ALFONSO CURIEL ESQUIVEL The senior Dr. Curiel is one of the most experienced ophthalmologists in Mexicali. He is a graduate of the prestigious UNAM University where he chose to study ophthalmology because he wanted to provide relief for patients, both children and adults. Since sight is the most valued sense we have, he wanted the opportunity to restore sight to people who had lost it. Dr. Curiel strongly believes that ethics should be at the core of medical services. His grandfather was a doctor too, a gynecologist to be exact. He remembers wanting to grow up to be a doctor since he was 13-years-old and how clear he was that he wanted to become an ophthalmologist. Belonging to the most recent generation of doctors, he recognizes the importance of specializing and continuing his studies.     Dr. Curiel’s knowledge and experience in ophthalmology doesn’t prevent him from understanding that he and his clinic are in a marketplace.
