About the Doctor

Hello, I am Dr. Mauricio Lozoya Garcia, a physician with a military background. I graduated from the Escuela Medico Militar in 2007 and, as a student, I already knew I would be a pediatric surgeon because of how easily I connect with pediatric patients. I completed pediatric surgery, likewise in the Army, in 2016, and I served for two years as Head of the Pediatric Surgery service at the Hospital Militar Regional de Especialidades de Mazatlan, Sinaloa. Later, in an effort to provide even better medical care, I returned to CDMX to complete the Advanced Specialty in Pediatric Colorectal Surgery, which I finished in 2018 and which is my area of expertise. As a pediatric surgeon, the most important thing to me is the relationship with my patient, and it is so easy and enjoyable for me to interact with children that I practically always turn the consultation into play, which allows me to work with them easily. In addition to managing the most common conditions in Pediatric Surgery, always striving for the best possible outcome, my goal in becoming a Colorectal Surgeon has been to manage the most complex problems of the colon and rectum, such as, to name a few, anorectal malformations, constipation of all types, especially the hard-to-control kind or fecal incontinence, which often makes the patient feel rejected, and which can be perfectly manageable through Bowel Rehabilitation programs, radically changing their lives.
