About the Doctor

My academic training was always focused on Cognitive-Behavioral Psychology, which I applied during my professional service to outpatients and hospitalized patients with emotional conditions at Nuevo Hospital Civil de Guadalajara "Dr. Juan I. Menchaca", as well as with patients with addictions at the CIJ (Centro de Integracion Juvenil). Likewise, over the course of my professional practice I have been able to confirm the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, and anxiety in victims of violence. I specialized in Family Violence through the Consejo Estatal para la Prevencion y Atencion de la Violencia Intrafamiliar (CEPAVI), working with hundreds of cases of violence, abuse, mistreatment, and/or neglect of minors. During my work at DIF Chapala I received training as a Forensic Expert at the Instituto Jalisciense de Ciencias Forenses, to contribute to the administration of justice by preparing specialized reports on psychological harm. Likewise, in this area, I provided support to victims of rape or kidnapping and cyberbullying in filing the corresponding reports. I have given talks, presentations, and training to groups of women and men on the prevention and treatment of Gender Violence. Also in the area of entrepreneurship for women. Even while working for public social assistance institutions, such as at the time at the Instituto Jalisciense de las Mujeres, I have always been dedicated to private practice, mainly serving women, boys, and girls with depression, anxiety, fears, low self-esteem, and behavioral problems, as well as boys and girls who have been victims of abuse and abandonment who are now in “Group Homes,” and couples therapy. I currently collaborate with the doctors and psychiatrist at Clinica Nueva Galicia in Chapala, who refer patients to me during consultations when they detect psychological or psychiatric disorders that require psychological therapy. But I also continue the important work of empowering women as a strategy for equality and equity, which is so important in couples therapy, in children's emotional development, and, in particular, in breaking down stereotypes in therapy with men.
