About the Doctor

Method: I use the systemic approach and premise-based psychotherapy, because these best explain the behavior of living beings; other approaches are reductionist or only look at the individual, whereas with this type of approach we understand that the person is a result of, or adaptation to, their environment, circumstances, and relationships. I believe a symptom is only the result of a series of interactions that occurred before, so I cite BATESON, when he explains that "The mind is not restricted to a physical context, but is a complex system that extends into our context and relationships," making us continuously interdependent beings (who influence one another). Based on a systemic epistemology, therapy is a space for listening, acceptance, and understanding. It is not about counseling or "scolding," nor about venting or relaxation exercises, but rather an introspective exercise that helps you define and understand your mental structure, and only then open up the possibility of change, in yourself, in your relationships, and of course in your quality of life. Experience: Group therapy on topics such as: Family violence, intimate partner violence, school violence. Psychoeducational talks for: Preschool, elementary, middle, and high school students, teachers at the same levels, and parents. Implementation of social welfare programs. Occupational therapy for patients with a history of mental illness. Counseling for adolescents. Mediation with parents. Individual psychotherapy for adolescents, adults, and older adults. Couples and family psychotherapy. Training: I recently completed a Master's degree in relational systemic therapy, at UNIVA university, and I continue to supervise clinical cases using the PREMISES approach.
