Hello, I am Dr. Oscar Chavira, orthopedic surgeon and traumatologist, certified by the Colegio Mexicano de Ortopedia, and I also hold a high specialty in spine surgery endorsed by UNAM. I run my private medical practice focused on orthopedic diseases and the care of trauma and acute injuries such as fractures, sprains, and muscle and tendon injuries. My areas of care focus on: Care of fractures and trauma Care of sprains and sports injuries Care of acute and chronic muscle and joint injuries Shoulder and knee sports injuries Care of traumatic injuries (blows, falls) Hip and knee joint wear injuries Acute spine conditions (contractures, disc herniations) Chronic spine conditions, changes in strength and sensation and chronic pain In the evaluation we will do a detailed review of your symptoms, a focused physical exam that lets us identify the origin of the injury or pain, and we will determine whether further medical tests such as X-rays or MRI are needed. As for my training as a spine surgery specialist, I focus on acute conditions such as disc injuries, inflammation and pain of the spinal joints, and age-related degenerative diseases; the approach is always diagnostic and, whenever possible, to provide treatment without surgery using medication and physical therapy. If surgical intervention is required, we use state-of-the-art, minimally invasive techniques that allow for quick recovery and a fast, pain-free return to daily activities.
