Dr. Armando Torres Gomez is an Orthopedic Surgeon whose practice focuses on the surgical and non-surgical care of children and adults with musculoskeletal conditions. He specializes in reconstructive joint surgery: Arthroplasties (knee and hip prostheses); knee arthroscopy (minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic joint procedures); anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus repair; fractures in general, as well as other Sports Orthopedic Surgery procedures. Dr. Armando Torres graduated as a Specialist in Orthopedics and Traumatology in 2001; he completed his Residency at the Centro Medico Nacional "20 de Noviembre" ISSSTE and at the Shriners Hospital for Children, Mexico City. He completed advanced specialty training through a "Travelling Fellowship" (academic scholarship) at: Cleveland Clinic, Case Western University, Case Western Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital, Shriners Hospital, St. Louis, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, Children's Hospital Aurora, Colorado. He holds a Master's in Medical Sciences from Universidad Anahuac, where he graduated with Honors "Summa Cum Laude" and was "Class Valedictorian." He is currently a Professor of the Specialty in Orthopedics and Traumatology (UNAM's Graduate Medical Program) at the Centro Medico ABC. He has given invited lectures and talks in Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, the United States, Brazil, and the Czech Republic, among others. Finally, it is worth mentioning that he has been recognized by Newsweek magazine as one of the most outstanding surgeons in Latin America.
