Dr. Jorge Pacheco Padron is an Ophthalmologist with an Advanced Specialty in Cornea from the Asociacion para Evitar la Ceguera en Mexico. He was President of the Asociacion de Oftalmologos del Estado de Queretaro. During 2014 he served as Head of the Cornea and Refractive Surgery Service at the Instituto Mexicano de Oftalmologia. He served as Director of the Banco de Ojos del Estado de Chihuahua and took part as a medical advisor, surgical mentor, and partner of the group of founding ophthalmologists of the first LASER surgery center in the city of Chihuahua. He took part in the team of multidisciplinary experts for transplants at Hospital Universitario de Chihuahua. Pioneer in the implantation of intrastromal rings and of surgical techniques in refractive surgery and corneal surgery in the state of Chihuahua. More than 18 years of experience, and practically 90% of his patients, both privately and while he was head of the cornea and refractive surgery service, come for consultation ONLY for corneal problems. Expert in resolving complications and difficult corneal cases, as well as performing most of his surgeries to stop using glasses, such as LASIK, PRK, phakic lenses, clear lens exchange surgery. Teacher and speaker at national and international congresses, and one of the pioneers in placing corneal rings in the north of the country for more than 10 years, starting with the so-called Intacs, and now even placing Ferrara rings.
