About the Doctor

I studied Psychology at the Facultad of the same name at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM). With a master's and doctorate in Mental Health from the Graduate Program in Medical and Health Sciences at the Facultad de Medicina (UNAM). I have worked at various health institutions such as the Instituto Nacional de Psiquiatria 'Ramon de la Fuente Muniz' and the Instituto Nacional de Pediatria. The areas in which I have worked have been addictions, mental health, primary care, stress and anxiety reduction, and mindfulness. My doctoral thesis focused on reducing stress and symptoms of anxiety and depression in chronically ill patients through a mindfulness-based intervention (mindfulness). I currently teach courses focused on promoting health and emotional well-being, in a way that fosters a better relationship with our emotions, with the content of the mind, with the way thoughts manifest in the body, and with those personal stories that appear over and over and influence our lives. All of this through different psychological approaches and techniques such as meditation, the role of the body in our emotional life, observation of our habits and behaviors, psychotherapy, among others.
