About the Doctor

Hi, my name is Roberto Mendez. I am a therapist and thanatology companion. I've been accompanying therapeutic processes for 10 years, and it's important to me that you know the approach I work from. It can be 1 psychoanalytic, 2 Existential. These are two approaches with substantial and important differences; however, in both, what I offer is a therapeutic relationship that accompanies the distress you're experiencing, with the aim of lessening the pain or suffering, with the intention of broadening the horizons of understanding of your existence. Once we schedule an appointment I'll go into more detail about this. On another note, I am co-founder of the Instituto Mexicano de Acompañamiento Existencial, where we created a unique proposal in the field of thanatology that moves away from the stages of grief, and we propose an existential thanatology with the intention of offering an ethical and compassionate stance toward pain. I'll tell you more later.
