About the Doctor

Dr. Ruben Figueroa is originally from Uruapan, Michoacan. His dream was always to be a doctor, so at age 18, he decided to enter medical school. His academic training began at the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolas in the School of Medicine; he later completed his internship at the Hospital General de Zona No. 1 in Aguascalientes, before returning to Michoacan to complete his social service. Over the following years he continued his studies at UNAM, based at the Hospital Infantil de Mexico, first completing the specialty in pediatrics, followed by a subspecialty in pediatric surgery, and culminating with advanced specialization in pediatric laparoscopy. Thanks to his career path, in 2015-2016, he became chief resident at the Hospital Infantil de Mexico. He continues participating in multiple scientific articles that reinforce his learning; for example, he published the article in 2016 "Pediatric inguinal hernia repair with a single-incision approach using an Endo Close suturing device". Dedicated body and soul to his profession, he currently holds an active certification and sees his patients at his various offices, where he schedules surgeries from newborns through adolescents.
