My priority is the recovery of each patient's mental health. Professional ethics is the main pillar of my psychotherapeutic practice; therefore, from the first session I begin to assess whether it is appropriate to work with the patient solely through psychotherapy, whether referral to another specialist is necessary, or whether the intervention of a psychiatrist is needed. Method of work: a) Review of the reason for consultation, that is, the reason that brings them to psychotherapy. b) Initial interview sessions. These sessions are aimed at determining the background of the reason for consultation and preparing a clinical history of the patient, including: their life history, interpersonal relationships, and future plans. Between 3 and 4 sessions of 50 minutes each, once a week. c) Feedback and start of treatment/referral. After the initial interviews, the patient is told the factors that may be related to the reason for consultation, as well as the essential aspects to work on during treatment. Likewise, if the need to work in collaboration with other mental health specialists is identified, the patient is informed of the benefits. If the need to refer the patient to another specialist is identified, because another type of psychotherapy is considered necessary, the client is informed between the first and second session.
