Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma

Non-Hodgkin cancer is a group of diseases in which the cells of the lymphatic system grow abnormally, affecting lymph nodes, the spleen, or other tissues of the body.

Common symptoms: It usually presents with painless swelling of nodes in the neck, armpits, or groin, along with fever, night sweats, persistent tiredness, or weight loss with no apparent cause.

Common causes: It is related to changes in the lymphocytes and, at times, to a weakened immune system or certain infections, although in many cases the origin is not clear.

Which specialist treats it? The hematologist and the oncologist are the ones who assess and follow up on this type of condition; in minors, the pediatric oncologist is involved. When enlarged nodes do not go away, the most prudent thing is to request a timely professional evaluation.
