They monitor glucose levels, adjust the management plan on an individual basis, and keep watch over the organs that diabetes can affect over time.

They treat diabetes in its various forms, including type 1 diabetes, and complications such as diabetic neuropathy. They also manage conditions that often accompany it, such as high blood pressure, dyslipidemia, obesity, metabolic syndrome, and thyroid disease.
