About the Doctor

PSYCH. ALBA GENOVEVA PALMA CONTRERAS Her approach to the knowledge of human behavior begins through early childhood stimulation, in preschool-age children, with training in the Symbolic Multisensory System; psychopedagogical support, use of adapted computerized programs, teaching support, multiple, sensory, and motor stimulation. She completed her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at the Universidad Autonoma de Campeche, with Honorable Mention. She collaborates at the Instituto Nacional de Psiquiatria in the Music Therapy Unit in Mexico City, joining a research project on music therapy applied to people with chronic schizophrenia, while simultaneously beginning therapeutic work with young people with eating disorders, adults with anxiety disorder, and older adults with Alzheimer's. Training in cognitive-behavioral therapy within a therapeutic framework and with biofeedback equipment. Simultaneously completing training in psychoanalytic clinical practice with children through the Asociacion Mexicana en Alternativas Psicologicas and the Diploma in Training of Therapists, Criminology and Child Violence, and Orchestra Conducting. She pursued the Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at the Centro de Estudios, Clinica e Investigacion Psicologica, and the Specialization in Child Psychoanalysis. She works as a trainer in various consultancies, giving courses, conferences, and workshops on emotional, motivational, and workplace health. In this professional advancement, she has participated in workshops such as Brain Gym, taught by a disciple of Maria Luz Ibarra, creator of that system, as well as the Movement and Language workshop, Neurolinguistic Programming, Sexual Dysfunctions through the Instituto Mexicano de Sexologia, Psychopathology for mental health personnel, Introduction to the Use of Music Therapy in Mental Health through the Instituto Nacional de Psiquiatria, among others. Apart from her dedication to the science of human behavior, her great passion for music has led her, for two decades in parallel, to be part of Symphony Orchestras, giving concerts throughout the country from the Palacio de Bellas Artes, as well as at International Festivals. Television producer of "Secretos" on channel 16. And of the radio program "Evoluciona tu Mundo" on 90.9 fm radio universidad. She is currently a businesswoman, trainer, and general director of the Centro de Psicologia y Potencial Humano, as well as completing the Specialty in Clinical Neuropsychology, services that will soon be available at the Centro de Psicologia.
