About the Doctor

I am Dr. Daniela Serna Garduño, Surgeon graduated from the Universidad Autonoma del Estado de Hidalgo, where from my early years I became involved in surgical practice and comprehensive care of women and children, thus defining my calling for pediatrics and pediatric surgery. I completed the Specialty in Pediatrics endorsed by the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, complementing my training at the Instituto Nacional de Pediatria. I then completed the Subspecialty in Pediatric Surgery, also endorsed by UNAM, with training at the Hospital Infantil de Mexico Federico Gomez, Instituto Nacional de Pediatria, and finishing at the Hospital Regional de Alta Especialidad del Niño "Dr. Rodolfo Nieto Padron", a referral center for the Mexican southeast. I completed international rotations at Children's Hospital Colorado, strengthening my experience in advanced pediatric surgery. I have more than 10 years of experience in the pediatric field and 5 years as a Pediatric Surgeon in the public and private sector. I am a professor at Universidad Anahuac Cancun, Vice President of the Colegio de Cirujanos Pediatras de Quintana Roo, and a member of the Scientific Committee of the Sociedad Mexicana de Cirugia Pediatrica. I firmly believe in the decentralization of pediatric high specialty care and I have chosen to practice in Cancun and Quintana Roo because it fulfills me to put my calling at the service of the children of the southeast of the country. But beyond the titles, I am a mother of two girls. And that experience changed the way I practice medicine. I treat each patient with the empathy of a mother, with sensitivity, closeness, and deep love for children. Because I am convinced that science is fundamental, but empathy is what truly transforms the healing experience.
