About the Doctor
I studied medicine and loved the idea of specializing in eyesight, a very precious sense of the human being, which is why I did my specialty in Ophthalmology in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, where I stayed on doing an advanced specialty in Cornea and Anterior Segment with Dr. Jorge Luis Domene Hinojosa, who invited me to work at his private clinic, one of the most recognized in Monterrey, which was a pleasure and an honor for this part of my training. Afterward I moved my residence to Zacatecas, where I currently work. Ophthalmologists receive comprehensive training in all areas of the eye over 4 years, however in the advanced specialty my training and focus were mainly on cataract surgery, lamellar and full corneal transplants, pterygium surgery (fleshy growth), keratoconus with its wide range of surgical and non-surgical treatments, surgery to stop wearing glasses (LASIK), reconstruction of the anterior segment after a severe injury or complicated previous surgery, specialized treatment of dry eye, treatment of corneal ulcers, fitting of frame glasses but also soft toric and scleral lenses, among other things.
