About the Doctor

I am a Military Physician and Surgeon from the Universidad del Ejercito y Fuerza Aerea de Mexico, graduated with Honorable Mention in 2001. Specialist in General Surgery, trained at the Hospital Central Militar of Mexico City and also graduated with Honorable Mention in 2009. I received the appointment of Chief Surgery Resident at the Hospital Central Militar, 2009. From 2011 to 2013, I obtained a scholarship to complete an advanced specialty course abroad (with ECFMG certification from the USA) in Trauma Surgery and Surgical Critical Care at the "University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio", the "South Texas Veterans Health Care System" and the "San Antonio Military Medical Center", including a rotation at the "Shock Trauma Center" in Baltimore, Maryland. In 2016 I completed the Diploma in Abdominal Wall Hernias given by BARD University. In 2017 I completed the International Diploma specialty in Abdominal Wall Hernias given by the Asociacion Mexicana de Hernias and the Universidad de Monterrey. I certified in Robotic Surgery at the Memorial Hermann Robotics Institute in Houston, Texas in 2018. I have extensive experience in managing surgical patients. I have the skills to perform operations both by conventional approach (open) and by laparoscopy (minimally invasive), mini-laparoscopy (3 mm), and robot-assisted laparoscopy (da Vinci). Expert in patients who require emergency surgery, including trauma patients. I also perform surgical treatments for some conditions by thoracoscopy. I am a specialist in the management of abdominal wall hernias in all their forms and I currently direct the hernia clinic at the Hospital Central Militar. ****Do not be fooled by doctors who mention having studied in other countries (especially in the U.S.A. without ECFMG certification), who will only do rotations of a few days or months, (even as observers) and who advertise themselves as super-specialists trained abroad. When you place your health in our hands, you have every right to demand supporting documentation of our professional background. A ROTATION ABROAD IS NOT SYNONYMOUS WITH HAVING GRADUATED FROM AN ADVANCED SPECIALTY.****
