About the Doctor

I am Dr. Abdi Oliva Garcia, a pediatric surgeon certified by the Consejo Mexicano de Cirugia Pediatrica, with experience in the surgical treatment of complex conditions in children and adolescents. My passion for pediatric surgery began during my training years, where I discovered the importance of providing specialized surgical care with human warmth to the youngest patients. I graduated from the Universidad Juarez Autonoma de Tabasco among the top of my class, completed my residency in Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery at the Centro Medico Nacional del Noreste in Monterrey Nuevo Leon, where I acquired advanced skills in surgical techniques and in the management of emergency surgeries, and later in Minimally Invasive Surgery at the Universidad Panamericana. In addition, I hold a diploma in Teaching and Medical Education and have participated in continuing education programs and international conferences to stay up to date with the latest advances in the field. I am part of local, national, and international associations and societies in my specialty. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working at IMSS and Secretaria de Salud, ISSSTE hospitals in Monterrey, CDMX, Puebla, Michoacan, and Quintana Roo, where I have performed multiple surgical procedures, including: - Surgeries for congenital malformations - Interventions for appendicitis and other abdominal emergencies - Treatments for gastrointestinal and oncologic disorders. - Pediatric thoracic surgeries My approach centers on comprehensive patient care, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure that each child receives the best possible care before, during, and after surgery. I firmly believe in the importance of clear communication and empathy. I work closely with parents and caregivers to explain each step of the surgical process, answer their questions, and ensure they feel comfortable and safe at every stage of treatment. In addition to my clinical practice, I am committed to education and awareness about child health.
