I am Dr. Cesar Ivan Ramirez Portillo, Pediatrician and Pediatric Cardiologist. I completed my training at Centro Medico Nacional Siglo XXI and I currently work at this hospital, as a physician attached to the Pediatric Cardiology service and as a professor of the pediatric cardiology course for the training of specialist physicians endorsed by UNAM. I have already been working for several years in the diagnosis and treatment of heart diseases in children, using Echocardiography and minimally invasive Cardiac Catheterization. My specialty is focused on the diagnosis of pediatric patients who present symptoms such as: heart murmur, arrhythmias, cyanosis (purple coloring of the skin and mucous membranes), recurrent respiratory infections, feeding fatigue with difficulty gaining weight, chest pain, and some others that may be caused by a heart malformation. These symptoms may appear from birth or in later years, so timely diagnosis allows, in most cases, an effective treatment to be offered, whether palliative or corrective. Currently working at a third-level care hospital such as Centro Medico Nacional Siglo XXI has allowed me to gain extensive experience in this type of condition, since it is a referral hospital that receives patients from Mexico City and other states of the republic such as: Guerrero, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Queretaro, Morelos, Puebla, Tlaxcala, and Veracruz, being the highest level of care for the diagnosis and resolution of cardiological conditions in the insured pediatric population.
